I'm Bec, the person behind the lens
based in hawke's, nz,
I'm your local Hawke's Bay dog photographer, with a passion for nature and animals. I've worked as a photographer for over 14 years, doing many things from sport, events, branding, portraiture, weddings and product, but there is just something about animals that just feels different.
I look forward to creating memories with you soon.
My Approach
Every animal is different, which is why I believe every photoshoot should be too.
As the owner of a dog working through reactivity, I understand that not every dog is comfortable in the same environments or situations. Through years of training, working with professional trainers, and learning about canine behaviour, I've developed a deep appreciation for meeting each dog where they are.
Before your session, we'll discuss your dog's personality, confidence level, and any quirks or limitations they may have. Whether your dog needs space, prefers to stay on lead, is nervous around strangers, or simply has their own way of doing things, we'll create a plan that sets them up for success.
My priority is creating a calm, safe, and enjoyable experience where your dog (and you) can relax and be themselves. When animals feel comfortable and understood, authentic moments happen naturally, and those are the moments that create the most meaningful photographs.
My Experience
Working with me is relaxed, fun, and very dog-centric.
I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years, shooting everything from sport and events to weddings and portraits, but dogs are what truly light me up. It all started with my childhood pup, Patchy, my very first model, and grew alongside countless adventures exploring Hawke’s Bay with my own dog, Otis, a lab/pittie/sheep-dog-something masterpiece. What I love most about photographing dogs is the honesty. There’s no posing or pretending, just raw emotion written straight into their eyes. I bring patience, play, and a genuine love for animals to every session, creating images that feel natural, joyful, and deeply connected to who your dog really is.
